She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

La’Portia is a National Board Certified Counselor, Certified Trauma Professional, a member of the American Counseling Association, Arkansas Counseling Association,
and Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International.
A career in service of others is the foundation of La’Portia’s career, having worked with many populations, in various settings, serving inpatient, outpatient, residential, and acute care clients.

She is a proud 20-year veteran of the United States Army, who currently serves as a Captain in the Army National Guard. She has a deep passion for assisting veterans and their families.
Before branching out into private practice, La’Portia worked as a therapist for various facilities, such as Methodist Residential Treatment Facility, Life Strategies Counseling as a school-based therapist, and Pinnacle Pointe Behavioral Hospital providing acute care to children and adolescents.
So many times there are populations and communities that are underserved, especially when it comes to mental health care. La’Portia works diligently to reach these individuals, assessing their various needs. She specializes in treating depression and anxiety disorders including PTSD, social anxiety, personality disorders, suicidal ideations, self-harm,
self-esteem, and trauma-related disorders.
